SOKA: international kaolin and mineral filler specialist
Founded in 1951, SOKA is specialised in the extraction, processing and calcination of raw kaolin, refined kaolin and calcined kaolin in France and Ukraine.
The Company has two production sites: the head office in Brittany, France, including three kaolin deposits, a refining factory and a calcination plant. In Ukraine, SOKA has been operating two kaolin deposits and a refining plant in Kazatin (Ukraine) since 2015. A high percentage of SOKA's turnover is generated through international export by means of high-performing logistics.
A wet process is used to concentrate products into complex silicates in the processing plants at Quessoy (France) and Kazatin (Ukraine). SOKA kaolins are of constant analytical composition and may be used for a range of industrial applications, such as ceramics and mineral fillers. In 2016 SOKA added a new calcination plant to the French site, in line with its functional mineral filler development strategy. SOKA has been a FAMI-QS animal feed certification holder since 2006.
SOKA's csr committment and environmental policy
SOKA's ongoing ISO 9001 certification, awarded in 1994, attests to its quest for quality, customer centricity and a management approach which is based on continuous improvement.
SOKA was certified ISO 14001 in 2005. This continuous certification guarantees eco-responsibility; a qualitative, environmental and social approach which is applied to SOKA's various plants in France and Ukraine. SOKA's local investment in Quessoy (France) is in line with a circular economy approach (local contractors, cultural and sports partnerships).
SOKA's global network and international presence
Since its creation in France, SOKA has been exporting its kaolins worldwide. The French logistics platform, which was built in Le Légué Port, Saint-Brieuc, in 2003, optimised SOKA’s international freight handling capacity. The Company’s expansion to Ukraine in 2015 improved responsiveness and service by expanding the product range.
